Back in civilization!

Me, in the door of a Pueblo!

We spent a week, to the day, in the back country, 26 miles from other people, and had no contact with the outside world other than some texts from two of our kids.

We packed up just before dark, and now it's almost 10 PM and we're at...wait for it...

McDonald's, using their free wifi internet.

After playing in the sand and dust, eating cactus, and hunting coyotes, it's weird to be

sitting here in town in a restaurant! That McDouble was great, and in a minute I'm going

to inhale a hot fudge sundae!

Then, if all of that wasn't so overly citified, we're going to...

park among the RV's in the Wal-mart parking lot and sleep there tonight!

Woo-hoo! Now, who hasn't looked at those RVs that haunt the outer limits of Wal-mart parking lots and wished they could do that too!

How about that, we might even get a doughnut in the morning, fresh from the Wal-mart bakery, to eat with our morning hot chocolate!

Then we're going to flee once more to the wilderness!

Well, sort of. We're heading back to Overton, where I'll properly update this blog.

Then we're going back to Stewart's Point to camp on the lake.

There was a lot of wind this past week, but we did manage to get in some adventures.

Most of you probably can't imagine the kind of wind we've had. It's not like Montana. It's steady gales, with even harder gusts, and sand and grit blows in the air.

Well, time to eat that hot fudge sundae!
