It's only noon, so this is only "half a day". We came to town to the library because we discovered some of the DVDs were due today. Unlike books with cheap fines, it's pricier to be late on DVD's. Since we have the solar panel and deep cycle battery we've been able to watch DVD's on the portable DVD player, which is like a small laptop computer that plays DVDs.

This is our "shower stall". We haven't gone back to the hot spring for baths. The water is great for warming the bones, but the suphur smell and "hard" water quality of it makes it poor water for bathing and washing hair. So we heat lake water in a kettle and stand between the uhaul and the motorcycle. There isn't often anyone in sight, and we can hear cars coming a mile away, but sometimes boats sneak into sight on the lake!

The soil is sand and gravel, so the rug we stand on can simply be shook out after it dries.

The sprouts are ready to eat.

I don't know if you can tell in this picture, but there are little leaves on the ones like alfalfa.

This is the city park in Overton.


We have four of these one-gallon jugs that fit in the saddle bags of the motorcycle,
two on each side.
We bring them with us to town and fill them here at the park.
We also have a 6-gallon and two 7-gallon jugs filled and sitting in the uhaul.


These trees, which are starting to leaf out, all lean toward the northwest.
I wonder if it's related to windy conditions or something to do with heat and drought in summer? Or something else altogether.
