This morning I took a dry Creosote (Greasewood) bath.

The plant has a strong almost-oily smell, but it contains stuff that eliminates odors, including body odor. You can burn the stuff and smoke your body over it, and that works too.

Or you can scrub your body with a clumb like this end of a branch, as though using a body brush. I felt refreshed and clean afterward, and it didn't require any water.

Water is a valuable commodity here, and even more so when you're hauling it in one-gallon jugs on either a bicycle or a motorcycle. We miss being by the lake! :)

We washed laundry today. The old fashioned way, with actual water!

It was nice to have something 'real' to tie my clothesline to!

The dog is guarding the laundry! Actually, she fell asleep from boredom

while I was hanging the clothes!

"Can I help make lunch, huh? Please? I'll lick out the bowl! How about

tuna fish sandwiches!"


Steven set up the tent he got at the yard sale the other day.
All the pieces were there. The zipper on the window cover for
the back window doesn't work, but that's the only flaw!


We cooked dinner over a fire tonight, using some of the driftwood we brought from our camp on the lake. In the kettle is potatoes, which I mashed when they were done, and stirred in cream cheese and salt. Then we shredded some of the canned cheddar cheese and sprinkled it on it, and opened a small can of ham, which we shredded and also sprinkled on it.
We usually drink tea with our meals, often mint or rose hip from home.
